More About Our History

Our senior member, Mr John Hume, is South Africa largest private Rhino breeder with over 1400 Rhino’s under his care and protection. He had also dreamed of retiring in the bushveld of South Africa and after a successful business career, was fortunate enough to be able to do so in 1992. For many years, he successfully bred Roan and Sable antelope and many other game species on his Ranches that included TB free Buffalo. He also had black and white Rhino and it was here that he developed his passion and love for these gentle animals.

John still refers to himself as a pioneer in the field of large scale captive Rhino breeding and since the inception of his intensive Rhino project in the north west in 2010, he has bred more than 400 calf’s. The Department of Environmental Affairs recently branded his project as the first and only successful Rhino breeding project in the world and with the upcoming CITES congress that will be held in South Africa in September, several members of different countries that belongs to CITES have already visited his successful breeding project.

We are dedicated in expanding the Rhino breeding project and as such in order make the project financial viable, we have decided to export 200 sub adult Rhino’s per year that has been bred in the Rhino breeding project. We also give advice on and to several zoo’s on the expertise and self-tested requirements that enable breeders to successful breed Rhino in captive conditions.
